In light of the Foot and Mouth epidemic and recent meeting cancellations, the Federation of Animal Science Societies (FASS) has implemented a number of precautions for this summer's joint meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, American Meat Science Association, American Society of Animal Science, and the Poultry Science Association, July 24-28 in Indianapolis, IN.

One of the precautions that ADSA has taken is to cancel the SAD Farm Tour scheduled for Tuesday, July 24. We felt that at this time, we should do our part to raise awareness of biosecurity and cancel any contact the SAD members may have with live animals during the meeting. The ADSA Board approved this decision.

A comparable/alternative tour will be scheduled for Tuesday morning from 8:00 am to 10:30 am so we encourage you and your students to register for the tour to ensure a space is held for them. If you know of a student that has already registered for the farm tour, please let that student know they will receive a refund if they would rather not go on the alternative tour. We are diligently working on these arrangements and once finalized, will contact you with complete details.

We hope this does not cause anyone a great inconvenience, but thought this was the right move for ADSA.
